About Jonas

Jonas Black, aka Punkass Dog Trainer, has been working with canines for most of his life. At nine years old, he tended to the coyote and wolf exhibits at the Alameda Park Zoo in Alamogordo, New Mexico, and throughout his childhood, he learned about training dogs from his grandfather, who was a professional trainer himself. From those early experiences, Jonas's love for dogs and fascination with canine behavior and psychology grew. When he serendipitously landed in Austin, Texas in 2012 thanks to a broken-down van, he decided to plant his roots and begin working with dogs professionally. Over the years, Jonas has gone from volunteering with local rescues to building one of the most successful dog training businesses in the state, K911, and traveling across the country training dogs and educating owners as well as current and aspiring trainers.

In his free time, Jonas enjoys riding his motorcycle; working out; and spending quality time with his family, his close friends, and his two personal dogs, Birdie and Wolfie.
